Please join us to celebrate our chapter’s 100th Anniversary on April 11, 2024! This event will take place at the Aster Event Center in Hyatt Place Allentown/Lehigh Valley (621 Grange Road, Allentown, PA 18016) and will be accompanied by a keynote speech by Dr. Alton D. Romig, Jr. His bio and abstract are below.

We are putting together a display and slideshow of Lehigh Valley ASM, metallurgy, materials science, and the Lehigh Valley throughout the years. If you have any photos or items that you’d like to share with us, we’d love to display it!
Additionally, we would like to recognize LVASM members (both past and present) who have won ASM awards. We have a list of past Bradley Stoughton Awardees and Outstanding Young Members, but if you have won any other ASM awards, please indicate them on the RSVP form.
The agenda for the event is as follows:
- 5-6:30 PM – Registration and networking
- 6:30 PM – Welcome address and dinner
- 7:30 PM – Keynote speech
The cost to attend is:
- $50 for professional members and guests
- $35 for retired members
- $20 for students (includes complimentary bus from Lehigh University)
Payment will be accepted as cash, check, or Venmo at the door.
Checks must be made out to Lehigh Valley ASMI.

The dinner menu includes:
- Artisan Charcuterie Display (appetizer)
- Fruit Display (appetizer)
- Scallops wrapped in bacon (appetizer)
- Caesar Salad (served with dinner)
- Choice of entree: Braised Beef Short Rib with Cabernet Demi-Glace, Grilled Salmon with Lemon Dill Cream Sauce, or Roasted Vegetable Strudel with Sauteed Spinach and Roasted Tomato Ragout (vegan)
- Herb Roasted Potatoes (side)
- Roasted Asparagus (side)
- Chef’s choice of dessert
A cash bar will be available for those over the age of 21.
