On November 2, 2023, the Lehigh Valley ASM chapter hosted students and professionals at Young Members Night at The Goose in Bethlehem, PA.
Mari-Therese Burton, a 5th-year PhD student at Lehigh University, received the Outstanding Young Member Award for supporting chapter operations, membership engagement, and excellence in metallurgical research. She joins 36 other recipients of the award since 1973. Mari-Therese presented about her research with a nanocrystalline Nickel-base alloy.
Lehigh Valley Material Science and Engineering undergraduate seniors participated in a poster contest in which they used metallography to examine common items from drill bits to cheese graters. LVASM members voted on the posters. The winners are listed below.
